Final Chapter

What had I done?  I was a monster!  A murderous MONSTER!  I had killed my sister!  What was going to happen to me now!  Daddy will never forgive me!  I'm doomed!  'I'm going to be thrown in a padded cell for the rest of my life!  No, no, no!  This isn't real! This isn't real!!' my mind screamed.

"Ehem....Ms. James!" a voice called at me. 

"Ms. James there is no reason to feel guilty,  it was all an accident.  No one is angry with you." the psychiatrist said calmly.  How can he be so calm!  My sister is DEAD...and it was all my fault.

I looked up.  "I'm not guilty?..." I whispered.  "No, it could have happened to anyone." the psychiatrist said with a smile. 

 

I sat up quickly.  "How can you say that?!  How can you say that 'I'm not guilty'!?  It was me, ME who pushed MY sister off the gym's ledge!  It was all my fault!  I threw a textbook at her when we were walking to school!  I was the one who made her mad!  The reason she was chasing me was because I had done that!  I should have just left everything alone!  And here you are trying to tell me that ALL of this IS NOT MY FAULT!?"  I screamed at the psychiatrist.  I shut my eyes and began to sob. 

Just then I herd a voice whisper, "Emmie...."  Emmie?  Ellie used to call me that when we were kids so we'd match, Ellie and Emmie... "Why..?" the voice whispered.  I looked up...

 

...and stared right into the eyes of my dead sister.

 

"Ms. James?" the psychiatrist called.  "Bye, bye....." Ellie whispered,  and with a flick of her grey, dead finger the psychiatrist fell to the floor in a pool of his own blood.  Dead.

I ran screaming from the room.  I have to get out of here!  I have to get out!  "Oh Ellie!  I'm SORRY!"  I yelled.

'Why can't she just die?!  What am I thinking?  I want her alive.  I want things to go back tot the way things used to be!' I thought,  'When mom was still here and Ellie....'

"AHHHHHHHHHHHH" I herd a woman scream.

 

'...loved me?'

"Did you get out of there gramma!?"  Rosie asked full of fear. 

"Yes flower, the school closed a week later and I switched over to a different school."  Gramma Emma responded.
"So....does that mean that your sister is haunting the school gramma?" 
"I'm sure she's moved on now, probably in a better place."  Rosie's grandmother sighed.

"Well come on then gramma!"  Rosie yelled out excited, "Let's go see!"

 

"Rosie, sweety!  Don't!  Come back here this minute."  Emma yelled.

"Come on gramma!" Rosie called over her shoulder as she tryed to open the huge wooden doors.

"Wow, cool!" Rosie exclaimed as the doors swung open on their own.

"Rosie!"  Emma yelled once more.

"Come on gramma!  It's cool in here!"  Rosie shouted.  Emma looked over.

"No....NO!" Emma yelled out as the doors slammed behind Rosie.

"Ellie! No! Don't!" she yelled running up to the school.

The doors swung open once more and she ran inside calling; "Rosie!  Rosie!  Honey, we need to get out of here!"

But once Emma got inside the school, the doors slammed shut.  Never to be opened again.

"I love you...you love me....."  Ellie whispered with a grin.

Two screams echoed inside the old building.

"We're a happy family...."

"With a great big hug, and a kiss from me to you...."

"Wont you say....you love me too....."
